Division Manager

Job title: DIVISION MANAGER

Reporting relationship: VP Operations

Work schedule: 40 + hours per week

Classification: Exempt

Job Purpose: MANAGES PRODUCT-SPECIFIC TEAM LEADERS by
upholding a high standard of CONSISTENT QUALITY and CUSTOMER SERVICE; maintaining laboratory POLICIES AND PROCEDURES; COMMUNICATING at all levels of the company; living by the mission statement and core values of the company.

Essential Job Results:
MAINTAINS TEAM JOB RESULTS by
coaching Team Leaders; documenting when necessary team quality of work, behavior and attitude; planning, monitoring, and appraising team results; empowering teams with greater job responsibilities as needed; demonstrating professional conduct at all times; holding regular unit meetings; and applying the principles of TQM.

SUSTAINS STANDARDS FOR TEAMS by
implementing systems and coordinating procedures with Team Leaders; consistently striving for better customer service; upholding laboratory policies and procedures.

ENSURES GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONS by
reviewing and acting upon doctor comment cards; contacting doctors via telephone, mail and email.

MAINTAINS PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE by
continually developing knowledge of all laboratory products and restorations; attending group meetings.

PROMOTES A SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT by
making sure that staff has gone through safety, infection control and hazard materials training; maintaining safe practices throughout the department.


MANAGES TEAM EFFECTIVENESS by
balancing case-flow and distribution amongst teams; securing coverage when a Team Leader is out, if necessary.

FACILITATES TEAM COST EFFECTIVENESS by
monitoring and minimizing team waste through analysis of team GPA and other pertinent reports.

CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM EFFORT by
active participation and communication, striving for excellence, providing world class customer service, and helping to achieve department goals and related results; adhering to company policies as outlined in the company handbook and related memos; following all safety procedures.

Education, prior to work experience, and specialized skill and knowledge:
Strong people, organizational and communication (written and oral) skills with a minimum of one year as a Team Leader and six years in all related technical specialties of a dental laboratory. Must have a working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Eudora, Vantive and ABS.

Physical environment/working conditions:
The employee will have an office or cubical and a daily presence in the laboratory.

Equipment/machinery used:
Dental laboratory equipment and computer.
