Asked Questions
How
do I sign up for the free 18 month career path plans and job descriptions
as stated by Reg Goulding in his article in the LMT?
Please register on our website www.DentalCareerServices.com showing your
NADL membership number, in approx. 10 working days you will have access
to the NADL member only site. (Currently the page is not finished being
set up; it will be fully completed in about 10 working days). I will schedule
to follow up and advise you once it is going so you can get yourself on
there and get your samples as soon as possible. Check back onto our site
frequently because we are always adding new services and updating our
site.
How
do employees log back into the database and how do you view job postings?
To log in visit our homepage: www.DentalCareerServices.com in the upper
left section chose “Job Seeker Login”. If you have any further
problems please let me know and I will assist you in any way possible.
FYI: Job Seekers can only log back in to make changes to their registration.
To view our job postings click the “Jobs” icon in the upper
left section of our homepage. Email me with the job postings you are interested
in (provide me with the job posting number) and I will send your information
directly to the laboratory.
How
do employers use our services?
When you log in, Employers are given two options: "Click here to
Create Job Posting" and "Search Candidate Database" The
first option is where you would click to post your job postings, it will
provide you with the option from there to create more, you can continue
creating them until you are completed. You don't have to do them all at
once, anytime you log in you will have the option.
The second option "Search candidate database" - you put in a
keyword search either the destination i.e.: Toronto, or discipline i.e.:
ceramist, and it will provide you a list of the employees in our database
whom match your search criteria. We currently don't have the sub search
option available but the feature will be coming soon.
How
much does it cost for the Canadian Immigration Services and how long does
it take?
Due to the extensive amount of extra work that must go into assisting
both the employee and often the employer through the immigration process,
there is a $3500 USD fee; half is paid by the employer the other half
paid by the employee. This is to be paid in increments, to ensure everyone
is satisfied. The first payment of $1000.00 is due as soon as you’re
confident that we're sincere and that we can achieve this for you. $1500.00
is paid when you receive your file number from the Canadian local immigration
officials and the last payment of $1000 is to be paid once you leave to
come to live in Canada. These fees are needed to cover the administration
fees, $150 processing fees and the advertising as required by immigration
(HRDC). This fee is no comparison to the fee's you would have with an
immigration lawyer. This also establishes your level of commitment to
immigrate and utilize our services.
Should
my CV (resume) be amending accordingly for the position that is being
offered?
Your CV should be standard which states facts about your formal education,
advanced training, experience etc. Your cover letter is the only document
that should be tailored directly to the specific position you are applying
for.
If
an employer pays for relocating costs, is it the employees responsible
to sign a contract?
Of course! An employer is going to ensure you sign a contract, at the
very least to cover the cost of their investment. Put yourself in the
employer’s position.
Please
explain the process and what is required to immigrate into the USA; do
I need to pay the money out right?
A job offer is required before we even begin the immigration process.
You are required to have a minimum of 3 years education as well as 3 years
working experience (3 years working experience is the equivalent of 1
year of school). The cost ranges from $4000 - $6500; many times the employer
will agree to pay half but it is the job seekers responsibility except
for the filing fees. We usually use a H1B visa (it is temporary and has
to be renewed yearly but can effectively do so)
Approximately how many resumes are currently available
for dental techs and managers in your database?
We have over 6500 dental professionals in our database, over 2500 dental
technicians specifically. We also have numerous resumes of managers and
high end professionals that are not in our database that only use our
executive recruiter.
How
does this site work to help Job Seekers?
Our services are user friendly, but the site will not do all the work
for you, you must pro-actively use our services to get the maximum benefit
from our services. You must visit our site regularly, review the jobs
posted and contact the employers directly from our site through the job
postings. We offer you the tools to help you find the career in Dental
Technology that you have been looking for.
How
do you find jobs in specific areas (ie: states/countries/provinces)?
Go to our homepage, click apply for jobs, then click the second option
search by Employer and Location, this will open up a list of our active
employers, their lab names, contact email and website as well as if they
have a destination link on our site. From this page you can review only
job postings in specific areas/labs of your choice and contact them directly
from that page.
I
did not receive my user name and password, how do I login?
It could mean one of two things:
- You wrote your email address incorrectly, email us at: info@smilescience.com
provide us with your name and advise us your current email address
- Your email address was returned to us as undeliverable for whatever
reason, this could be because the initial email as well as other emails
through our site are seen as being sent automatically, your spam filter
could catch it and think it is spam therefore you would not get the email,
contact your ISP.
How
much does it cost to post photos and how does this service work?
You can post up to 6 photos of your work for FREE, simply attach 6 photos
in standard .jpg format which I will post onto your registration for you.
If your email system will not allow you to send 6 attachments onto one
email, simply send me 2 emails, with 3 attachments each!
